Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years or older

  • Must have a GED or High School Diploma

  • Must have a valid Minnesota Driver's License

  • Must live within a 30 minute radius from an active SBM Fire Station

  • Must be willing to participate in a Physical Agility, Medical Examination, and Background Check

Hiring Process

  • Submit an Application

  • Physical Agility Exam

  • Panel Interview (Denied or Conditional Offer)

  • Background Check (Conditional Offer confirmed or revoked)

    • Criminal History

    • Driving Record

    • Employer and reference check

  • Psychological Examination

  • Medical Examination

  • Start Fire Academy/ EMT Schooling (paid for by the department)
